The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community dedicated to advancing pediatric care and education. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently comprises eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner, working collaboratively to serve the Inland Empire of Southern California.
Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital serves as a tertiary care referral center for a vast region spanning Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties. The division provides comprehensive gastroenterology and nutrition services through specialized team center clinics. These clinics support complex patient populations, including those with intestinal failure (home TPN), enteral feeding tubes, inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, spina bifida, home mechanical ventilation, and liver disease. The team is bolstered by a nurse specialist, a dietician, a social worker, and administrative staff.
The facility features a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab offering all endoscopic procedures, general motility studies, bio-feedback programs, IB Stim, breath hydrogen studies, and esophageal pH studies. A full-time anesthesia service supports these procedures. While there is no liver transplant program on-site, the team co-manages pre- and post-liver transplant care with regional transplant institutions.
This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic division where clinical excellence meets academic rigor. As a member of the team, you will provide high-quality clinical care to pediatric gastroenterology patients while fulfilling teaching responsibilities for the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the pediatric residency program.
Loma Linda Children's Hospital hosts a large residency program, with 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents rotating through the gastroenterology program annually. We seek an applicant who is not only an excellent clinician but also a dedicated teacher. There are ample opportunities for both basic and clinical research, and experience or interest in motility disorders is preferred.
The Inland Empire offers the lifestyle perks of Southern California with more affordable living expenses. Please note that a California residency is required upon the start date. This opportunity is not eligible for a Conrad 30 Waiver.
Loma Linda University is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its workforce.
