The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community within a tertiary care referral center serving the Inland Empire of Southern California. The region spans Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties, offering the cultural and lifestyle perks of Southern California with more affordable living expenses. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently comprises eight physicians and a Nurse Practitioner, supported by a dedicated team including a nurse specialist, dietician, social worker, and administrative staff.
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our full-time division. This role is designed for an excellent clinician and teacher who will provide comprehensive gastroenterology and nutrition services to patients across the region. The position involves clinical care in specialized team center clinics addressing complex conditions such as intestinal failure (home TPN), inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, and liver disease.
The successful candidate will also fulfill teaching responsibilities for the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the pediatric residency program. With 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents rotating through the program, there is a strong emphasis on mentorship and education. The role offers ample opportunities for both basic and clinical research, with a preference for those interested in motility disorders.
Our team operates out of Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, which features a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab providing all endoscopic procedures, general motility studies, bio-feedback programs, IB Stim, breath hydrogen studies, and esophageal pH studies. A full-time anesthesia service supports all endoscopic procedures. While there is no on-site liver transplant program, the team co-manages pre- and post-liver transplant care with regional transplant institutions.
Candidates must be willing to establish California residency upon their start date. This opportunity is not eligible for a Conrad 30 Waiver. Interested applicants should review the compensation details and benefits package, which includes generous retirement contributions, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, CME funds, and loan repayment assistance for eligible candidates. Further details regarding compensation and the recruitment process will be discussed directly with the department.
Loma Linda University is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in its faculty and staff.
