The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community dedicated to advancing pediatric care and education. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently comprises eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive care.
Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital serves as a tertiary care referral center for the Inland Empire, spanning Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties in Southern California. The division operates within a robust academic environment, supporting a large residency program with 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents who rotate through the gastroenterology program.
This full-time position invites a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join a dynamic team providing specialized care to patients across the Inland Empire. The role blends high-level clinical practice with academic teaching responsibilities for both the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the pediatric residency program.
The division offers a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab at Children's Hospital, featuring general motility studies, bio-feedback programs, IB Stim, breath hydrogen studies, and esophageal pH studies, all supported by a full-time anesthesia service. The team provides specialized care for complex conditions including intestinal failure (home TPN), enteral feeding tube management, inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, spina bifida, home mechanical ventilation, and liver disease. While there is no liver transplant program on-site, the team co-manages pre- and post-liver transplant care with regional transplant institutions.
Ideal candidates will be excellent clinicians and teachers with a strong interest in motility disorders. The position also offers ample opportunities for both basic and clinical research.
The Inland Empire offers the lifestyle perks of Southern California with more affordable living expenses. As a California employer, a California residency is required upon the start date. Please note that this opportunity is not eligible for a Conrad 30 Waiver.
Candidates interested in this position should submit their application materials for review. Compensation details, including base salary and variable compensation, are discussed directly with the department during the recruitment process.
