The Department of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a vibrant academic community dedicated to advancing pediatric care and education. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division currently comprises eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner, working collaboratively to deliver comprehensive gastroenterology and nutrition services to the Inland Empire of Southern California.
Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital serve as a tertiary care referral center for a vast region spanning Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties. The division operates within a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab offering advanced procedures, including general motility studies, bio-feedback programs, IB Stim, breath hydrogen studies, and esophageal pH studies. A full-time anesthesia service supports all endoscopic procedures, and the team co-manages pre- and post-liver transplant care with regional transplant institutions.
The division is supported by a multidisciplinary team including a nurse specialist, dietician, social worker, and administrative staff. This infrastructure supports specialized team center clinics caring for patients with complex conditions such as intestinal failure (home TPN), enteral feeding tube management, inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, spina bifida, home mechanical ventilation, and liver disease.
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our full-time faculty. As a member of the division, you will provide high-quality clinical care to pediatric gastroenterology patients while fulfilling teaching responsibilities for the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the pediatric residency program.
Given the large residency program—comprising 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents rotating through gastroenterology—you will have ample opportunities to mentor the next generation of physicians. We value candidates who are excellent clinicians and teachers. While experience or interest in motility disorders is preferred, the role also offers significant opportunities for both basic and clinical research.
The Inland Empire offers the lifestyle perks of Southern California with more affordable living expenses. Please note that a California residency is required upon your start date. This opportunity is not eligible for a Conrad 30 Waiver.
Candidates interested in this position should submit their application through the university's recruitment portal. Compensation details, including the starting base range and variable compensation structures, will be discussed directly with the department during the recruitment process.
Loma Linda University is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
