Join our healthcare team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) and play an important role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care. In this role, you will work closely with Registered Nurses and clinical staff to support patients and help maintain a safe, supportive care environment.
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Patient Care Technician assists licensed nursing personnel in providing direct patient care in accordance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines. This position is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in nursing, healthcare, or clinical patient care.
You will accept patient care assignments from the Charge RN and immediately report changes in patient condition. Your day involves obtaining and documenting vital signs, measuring patient intake and output, and performing capillary blood glucose testing and ECGs as directed. You will apply monitoring equipment such as NIBP, ECG electrodes, and pulse oximetry.
Beyond bedside care, you will assist with patient transport and transfers, respond to call lights and family requests, and support activities of daily living under nursing supervision. You will also provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety, verbally redirecting those engaging in at-risk behaviors while maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and rights.
In some shifts, you may function as a Virtual Safety Attendant supporting the hospital's Telesitter patient monitoring program. This involves using AvaSure® monitoring technology for continuous visual observation, utilizing two-way audio communication to redirect patients, and collaborating with bedside nursing staff during shift handoffs.
Working as a Patient Care Technician provides valuable hands-on experience while making a meaningful difference in patient care. You will work alongside experienced nurses, physicians, and healthcare professionals in a collaborative environment focused on patient safety, teamwork, and quality care. If you are pursuing a career in nursing, patient care, or healthcare, we encourage you to apply and grow with us.
We are committed to your development. As a team member, you will participate in unit projects and patient care improvement initiatives, and attend in-service trainings and educational programs to further your skills.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
