About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to own the end-to-end payroll function. This is a technical, detail-driven position designed for a professional with a strong accounting or payroll background who enjoys owning the numbers. Unlike a generalist HR role, this position requires deep expertise in processing, compliance, and system integrity.
As the internal subject-matter expert, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our weekly and biweekly payroll cycles. Your day will involve auditing data for proper pay rates and deductions, reconciling payroll registers to the general ledger, and managing system configurations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for resolving complex discrepancies, ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and local laws—particularly California wage and hour requirements. Additionally, you will oversee the administration of our benefit programs and partner with Accounting and HR leadership to drive process improvements.
