About the Role
This Payroll Assistant role is designed for a detail-driven professional with hands-on construction experience to support the critical function of weekly payroll processing across both union and non-union craft workforces. The position serves as a vital link in ensuring prevailing wage compliance, managing certified payroll reporting (WH-347), and handling OCIP/CCIP insurance program reporting for both public and private projects.
In this role, you will be the guardian of accurate financial data, validating timekeeping information and ensuring proper job cost coding, craft classifications, shift differentials, and overtime calculations. You will maintain current union wage rates, fringes, and dues per collective bargaining agreements, coordinating updates with HR and Operations to keep rate sheets accessible. Your work ensures that certified payroll reports are submitted accurately with required digital signatures, monitoring agency feedback to prevent payment holds and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Beyond processing, you will partner with HR, Project Management, and Branch Accounting to resolve onboarding, rate, and timekeeping issues, providing responsive support to field teams. You will also assist the accounting and finance department on various projects, working independently in a fast-paced environment where organization and deadline management are essential.
