About the Role
As a Payroll Assistant, you will serve as a critical support pillar for our weekly payroll processing across both union and non-union craft workforces. This position is essential for maintaining strict prevailing wage compliance, managing certified payroll reporting (WH-347), and handling OCIP/CCIP insurance program reporting for our diverse portfolio of public and private projects.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between field operations and finance. Your day-to-day involves collecting and validating timekeeping data, ensuring accurate job cost coding, and managing complex calculations for shift differentials and overtime. You will act as a key liaison, partnering with HR, Project Management, and Branch Accounting to resolve onboarding issues, clarify wage rates, and support field teams with responsive service. The role requires a detail-driven approach to maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure timely submissions to avoid payment holds.

Requirements
- verified2+ years of payroll experience in construction (union and non‑union)
- verifiedProficiency with payroll/timekeeping systems and Excel
- verifiedAdvanced Excel skills
- verifiedSolid computer and ERP skills
- verifiedCPP (Certified Payroll Professional) credential (preferred)
- verifiedAccounting coursework or degree (preferred)
