About the Role
The Patient Registration Specialist serves as the vital first point of contact for patients at the University of Toledo Medical Center, managing both outpatient and inpatient registration functions. This role is essential for maximizing reimbursement accuracy while ensuring a courteous and caring impression for every patient and visitor. Specialists work at a fully cross-functional level to communicate effectively, maximizing patient flow and delivering excellence in customer relations.
In this position, you will ensure that financial policies and requirements are met while providing caring access to care. The role requires performing complete and accurate registration and admission functions to provide timely, accurate patient information to all providers and users of patient data. You will be expected to handle cash collections, verify insurance, and maintain professional service-oriented relationships with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and staff, even in stressful or confrontational environments.
