The Patient Coordinator serves as the vital first point of contact for patients, customers, and visitors, ensuring a positive and seamless experience from arrival through departure. This role is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and documentation accuracy. Whether in a fixed facility or a mobile setting, the coordinator acts as a bridge between patients and clinical staff, ensuring everyone understands what to expect before, during, and after their appointments.
In this position, you will manage the flow of patient interactions, handling registration, insurance verification, and preliminary screenings. You will play a key role in preparing the work area and supplies, ensuring the environment is clean, organized, and ready for procedures. The role requires a high degree of adaptability, as you may assist with patient transport, transfers, and the delivery of medical records to physicians and patients, all while strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations.
This role offers a dynamic work environment that may include both fixed radiology locations and mobile units. In the mobile setting, you may assist in preparing the unit for transport and working in varied weather conditions. The position involves exposure to strong magnetic fields, radioactive materials, and potential infectious hazards, requiring a commitment to safety and hygiene. You will be expected to work at several locations, with local travel often required to support multiple sites.
Candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment. For Mobile Radiology and Oncology roles, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire. Additionally, the COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment depending on current health guidelines.
