As a member of the dialysis healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. This position is essential to ensuring that every patient receives high-quality care in compliance with rigorous federal, state, and corporate regulations. You will be the frontline support for patients undergoing hemodialysis, managing the setup and operation of dialysis machines while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Your day will involve welcoming patients, evaluating their vascular access, and initiating treatments according to precise physician orders. Beyond the technical aspects of running the machines, you will monitor patient responses, collect vital signs, and document every step of the treatment process. You will also support the organization's commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) by actively participating in process improvement activities aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction and achieving quality goals.
In the Transitional Care Unit, you will guide newly admitted patients through their first four weeks of dialysis, coordinating care across disciplines and assisting them in understanding their treatment options, including home dialysis products. You will also help train direct patient care staff and ensure that all infection control practices are strictly followed to protect both patients and staff.
To join our team, candidates must possess a High School diploma or G.E.D. and meet all Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the mandated timeline. Successful completion of the organization's dialysis training program and CPR certification are required for continued employment. Additionally, all employees must pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment; however, failing this test does not automatically preclude employment, as the company will consider reasonable accommodations.
We maintain a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. While previous patient care experience in a hospital setting is preferred, a demonstrated commitment to our culture, values, and customer service standards is essential.
Fresenius Medical Care is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or disability status. We foster a culture where safety, integrity, and patient-centered care are the top priorities, ensuring that every team member feels supported in delivering the best possible experience for our patients.
