Hartford Healthcare's Healthcare & Medical Services department is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Our culture emphasizes teamwork, excellence, and an inclusive environment where every team member is valued. We provide access to cutting-edge technology and robust professional development opportunities to support your growth as a healthcare professional.
As a Patient Care Tech, you will be the backbone of our bedside care team, providing essential hands-on support to patients and their families. This role exists to ensure a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment while allowing nurses and providers to focus on complex clinical tasks. You will partner closely with the interdisciplinary team to support care plans, ensuring patients receive respectful, empathetic, and clear communication throughout their journey.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of direct patient interaction and clinical support. You will monitor vital signs, assist with personal hygiene and mobility, and facilitate patient transport to tests and procedures. Accuracy in documenting patient information within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) is critical to maintaining continuity of care. Additionally, you will support procedures, collect specimens, and set up EKGs, acting as a vital link in the care chain by promptly communicating any changes in patient condition to the broader team.
