Position Overview

The Parts Specialist serves as a critical link in the operational chain, managing the inventory of major components such as engines, compressors, and control panels to ensure they remain in revenue service. This role is essential for keeping technicians supplied with the precise parts needed to maintain equipment performance.

Day in the Life

In this fast-paced environment, you will manage the full lifecycle of parts inventory. Your day involves ordering parts from vendors to maintain minimum stocking levels, receiving and inspecting shipments for defects, and storing them in designated locations. You will actively support technicians by consulting "as built" engineering drawings and vendor catalogs to identify exact part numbers and pricing, ensuring the right components are ordered for specific compressor packages.

You will also handle the logistics of distribution, including picking, packaging, and shipping parts to customers while tracking delivery details. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to maintaining accurate inventory records, generating purchase orders, and transmitting data regarding quantities and pricing to support customer invoicing and vendor payments. Additionally, you will respond promptly to calls and emails from customers and technicians, assist with warranty claims, and participate in training programs to deepen your knowledge of compressor products and computer systems.

Working Conditions

This position operates within an office environment with controlled temperatures but also requires time in an outdoor setting subject to varying climates. The role involves physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. You must be able to read distribution documents clearly and communicate effectively via telephone.
