The Opportunity
The Pike School seeks a part-time librarian to join our faculty beginning in the 2026-27 school year. This is a 10-month position running from mid/late August through mid/late June, with a schedule of 32 hours per week between 8:00 am and 3:20 pm. The specific weekly schedule will be determined collaboratively based on library needs, candidate availability, and the overall school calendar.
About the Team
You will join a library department of two veteran librarians who job-share the head librarian role. As a team, we develop and execute our programs and services in a collaborative and flexible manner, leveraging our collective strengths and exploring areas of professional interest. We are a fun-loving, curious group that believes in libraries as powerful spaces for learning, reading, and community. We value and honor our young readers, our faculty and staff colleagues, and our families, endeavoring to provide a high level of service to all.

We aim to provide access to a wide variety of resources to support learning and inspire imagination, while promoting reading as a way to learn about ourselves and others.
The Interview Process
Interested candidates should submit a resume and a cover letter that addresses how your experience meets the expectations of the position. Finalists will be expected to teach a demonstration lesson and provide a writing sample.
