Presbyterian exists to improve the health of patients, members, and the communities we serve. Founded in New Mexico in 1908, we are the state's largest private employer with nearly 14,000 employees. As a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system, we operate nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a growing multi-specialty medical group. Our health plan serves more than 580,000 members statewide.
This position is designed to perform advanced patient care within the State-approved scope of practice in our emergency department setting. You will be the first point of contact for emergency medical telephone calls, providing critical care to injured or ill patients. The role requires you to ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families while organizing care that contributes to the overall quality of the team.
In this dynamic environment, you will monitor patients, maintain accurate medical records, and manage the flow of patients arriving at the department. You will collaborate closely with EMS service lines and internal stakeholders to facilitate patient transfers and direct responding ambulance crews. This role is vital to maintaining the efficiency and safety of our emergency operations.
We believe that how you grow, learn, and thrive matters. Presbyterian offers a unique wellness program including free on-site and community-based gyms, nutrition coaching, and mindfulness resources. We support your professional journey with educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department.
To ensure your safety and well-being, we provide staff safety wearables that allow nurses to discreetly call for help when needed. We also offer malpractice liability insurance and competitive differentials for night/weekend shifts, higher education, certifications, and various lead roles.
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is an AA/EOE/VET/DISABLED employer. We are a drug-free and tobacco-free organization with smoke-free campuses. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
