Oracle HCM Application Solutions Architect

About the Role

As an Oracle HCM Application Solutions Architect, you will serve as a strategic advisor within Southern Company's Enterprise Foundations organization. Your primary mission is to provide architecture guidance and uphold technology governance for the Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. This role sits at the intersection of Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, Finance, and Supply Chain Management, ensuring a cohesive and robust shared platform.

You will drive the evolution of the HCM ecosystem by defining technology standards, developing comprehensive roadmaps, and enforcing governance protocols. Beyond technical oversight, you will act as a bridge between complex technical concepts and business leadership, translating architecture into clear value propositions for senior stakeholders. Your work will directly influence how the organization manages technical change, engages with strategic vendors, and adopts new platform capabilities.

Day in the Life

Your day involves active participation in Agile delivery processes and platform governance meetings. You will collaborate with product delivery and enablement teams to ensure technical change management aligns with established standards. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to documenting leading practices, creating system design documents, and developing guidelines for developers.

You will engage with strategic vendors to evaluate how new products integrate into the technical ecosystem and participate in strategic planning sessions. Additionally, you will research upcoming product roadmaps, develop proof-of-concepts for new technologies, and lead continuous education sessions to keep delivery teams informed on platform features and best practices. This role requires constant adaptation to a dynamic environment, balancing deep technical analysis with effective communication across a multi-disciplinary, geographically diverse team.

Location and Work Model

This position is based onsite at either the GPC HQ in Atlanta, GA, or the Energy Center in Birmingham, AL. The role requires an onsite presence 4 days per week to facilitate close collaboration with the Architecture Manager and cross-functional teams.
