Baylor Scott & White Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and communities to live well. Our mission is grounded in four core values: serving faithfully with a joyful heart, never settling as we strive for better, supporting one another in our shared journey, and making an impact through initiative and exceptional experiences.
As an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse, you will serve as a licensed professional coordinating comprehensive patient care using the Baylor Scott & White Health nursing model. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe passage of patients through the surgical experience, utilizing the nursing process to assess needs, identify diagnoses, and implement individualized care plans. You will work to prevent complications and delays, delegating interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act and patient conditions.
In this position, you will foster a therapeutic environment that respects the unique diversity of every patient and family. Your work involves critical clinical judgment, evidence-based inquiry, and advocacy to protect patient rights and dignity. You will also play a key role in facilitating learning for patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring that health promotion and disease prevention are integrated into every aspect of care.
We offer a supportive environment designed to help you live well on your journey. Eligible candidates relocating 50+ miles may receive relocation assistance. We also provide a sign-on bonus of $15,000 for external candidates with a minimum of two years of RN experience. Our benefits package includes immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%, tuition reimbursement, and PTO accrual beginning on Day 1.
We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued, and supported. We are committed to creating a culture where diverse backgrounds and perspectives are recognized and appreciated, ensuring that every team member and patient feels a sense of belonging.
To be considered for this role, candidates must be graduates of an accredited program and hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer. Please note that this position specifically requires a minimum of two years of experience in both the Operating Room and Vascular specialties.
