The Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant serves as a vital liaison between patients and Optometrists, ensuring a seamless and exceptional patient experience from the moment they arrive. Whether in an onsite clinic or a remote setting, you will guide patients through their initial journey, preparing them for examinations and explaining each step of the process with clarity and empathy.
In this part-time role, you will act as a patient advocate, managing the flow of clinical activities while maintaining the highest standards of care. You will be responsible for gathering medical history and ocular health data, administering preliminary and specialty tests, and accurately documenting results in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). For remote appointments, you will facilitate video conferencing and assist patients through the digital eye exam process, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Beyond clinical duties, you will play a key role in patient education, instructing individuals on contact lens care, handling, and insertion. You will also collaborate closely with retail associates to transition patients smoothly after exams, conveying doctor recommendations and managing appointment schedules. Your ability to articulate insurance benefits and navigate MVC plans will be essential in helping patients understand their coverage.
We value a team that is energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. As a Clinical Specialist, you will work in a clean, healthy environment where equipment and supplies are meticulously maintained. The role requires flexibility to adapt to changing business demands, which may include working varied schedules and traveling between different store locations.
You will be part of a culture that prioritizes patient advocacy and excellent customer service. Success in this position requires the ability to communicate clearly with both patients and team members, triage ocular emergencies, and maintain composure while managing interruptions and deadlines. We are committed to providing specialized training and clinical certifications to help you excel in your responsibilities.
Candidates with an optical or healthcare background are preferred, though training is provided for the right candidate. To apply, please submit your resume highlighting your relevant experience and customer service skills. We look for individuals who demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, empathy, and a commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and data security standards.
