The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) employs more than 2,000 members statewide, operating from headquarters in Tallahassee and seven regional operations centers. Our mission is to promote public safety and strengthen domestic security. We foster a family-oriented work environment guided by our four Fundamental Values: Service, Integrity, Respect, and Quality.
This position serves as an essential member of the Florida Intelligence Center's 24/7 Intelligence Watch & Warning section within the Office of Statewide Intelligence. You will work closely with other crime intelligence analysts and supervision to provide tactical analytical assistance for criminal investigations and intelligence notifications to the FDLE, state fusion centers, and federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial government agencies.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve answering phones, creating and disseminating correspondence, conducting facial recognition, and monitoring security cameras. You will research and triage information for domestic security incidents, handle urgent threat-to-life notifications from INTERPOL, and analyze suspicious activity reports received through the See Something, Say Something initiative. This role requires excellent customer service, multi-tasking, time management, and decision-making skills, particularly in high-stress emergency situations.
This is a full-time, essential position requiring rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Members assigned to this unit receive critical pay and shift differential pay as determined by FDLE's pay policy. As a member of a law enforcement agency, you may be designated as an essential service during critical incidents or disasters (both natural and man-made), requiring extended shifts or overnight stays.
We strongly encourage bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants to apply. Preference is given to candidates demonstrating strong skills in critical thinking, analytical research, and the ability to develop and deliver presentations to internal FDLE members and other law enforcement agencies throughout Florida.
You will be evaluated based on your previous knowledge and experience, with additional reviews for preferred qualifications. The selection process may consist of written exercises, work samples, skills tests, interviews, a drug screen, and fingerprinting. You may be contacted via email to participate; failure to reply within a designated timeframe may exclude you from further consideration.
FDLE requires an extensive background process for all recommended applicants, including financial credit checks, criminal history checks (applicant and immediate family/roommates), personal references, and employment and education verifications. This information is utilized to make the final hiring decision.
