The University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) to join our team in Miami, Florida. This full-time position is designed for a professional proficient in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The role serves as a vital link in our patient care continuum, performing comprehensive clinical testing and documenting findings in our EMR system while adhering to strict department standards.
As an OT2, you will provide patient-centric care to individuals of all age groups, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in every interaction. The position involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm that includes performing advanced ocular assessments, managing complex equipment, and supporting providers with detailed documentation. You will also play a leadership role within the team, acting as a preceptor for new staff, a super-user for technology implementations, and a lead technician providing oversight to clinical teams when assigned.
