The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) to join our team in Miami, Florida. This full-time position is designed for a professional proficient in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The OT2 plays a vital role in delivering patient-centric care, performing comprehensive clinical testing, and documenting findings in the EMR system to support our providers and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
As a key member of our clinical team, you will serve as a lead technician, providing oversight to clinical staff when assigned. You will act as a super-user for technology implementations and a preceptor for training new team members. Your day-to-day involves facilitating motility exams, performing advanced imaging (fundus photos, OCTs, slit lamp exams), and preparing patients for intravitreal injections. You will also support virtual care encounters and travel to satellite eye centers as needed, ensuring seamless operations across our locations.
