The University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) to join our team in Miami, Florida. This full-time position is designed for a professional proficient in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The role serves as a vital link in our patient-centric care model, performing advanced clinical testing and documenting findings in our EMR system to support our providers and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
As an OT2, you will function within a fast-paced academic medical center environment, supporting over one million patient encounters annually. You will act as a super-user for technology implementations, assist in training and onboarding clinical support staff, and serve as a lead technician providing oversight to clinical teams when assigned. The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed and may involve travel to satellite eye centers.
