Chemical Operators are an integral part of our production team, playing a vital role in the overall chemical manufacturing process. This position is diverse, requiring strong mechanical ability to perform general plant operator duties. You will be responsible for weighing and mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment, and overseeing the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate is attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to collaborate with production team members to develop the best processes and products. You will operate plant equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), handle and transport chemicals safely, and troubleshoot issues with production equipment. The role involves operating tanker trucks and railcar vessels, managing pumps, piping, and valves, and maintaining daily plant inventory and housekeeping records.
This role takes place in a chemical manufacturing plant producing various alkaline mineral slurries. The environment includes exposure to outside elements with normal radiant heat or cold, and tasks may require working in ambient temperatures exceeding 100 degrees while wearing personal protective equipment. The job involves climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and adhering to strict safety guidelines regarding confined spaces, working at heights, and hot work.
