The Chemical Operator is an integral part of our production team, responsible for the overall chemical production process at our plant producing Liquid Alum, ACH, and PAC chemicals. This role requires a diverse mechanical ability to perform general plant operator duties, including weighing and mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment, and controlling pressure and temperature.
You will be the eyes and ears of the manufacturing process, operating plant equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and handling, transporting, and processing chemicals safely. The ideal candidate is attentive and knowledgeable, with a desire to collaborate with other production team members to develop the best processes and products. This position involves operating tank trucks, railcar vessels, pumps, piping, and valves, as well as mobile equipment like backhoes and forklifts.
The working environment is dynamic and demanding, often requiring tasks in ambient temperatures up to 100 degrees while wearing protective gear. You will work in outside elements where radiant heat or cold is normal, and the role includes rotating shifts with the potential for 12-hour days and intermittent 14–16 hour days during emergency operations or repairs.
