We are seeking an Operating Engineer to join our experienced team dedicated to the support and highly efficient performance of utility systems for approximately 50 buildings containing office and research laboratory spaces. In this role, you will operate, supervise, and maintain all physical plant equipment on our campus.
Your day will involve operating and monitoring all physical plant equipment, regularly checking mechanical and machine rooms to ensure full service to all facilities and special areas. You will start up and changeover equipment, complete minor preventive maintenance work, and maintain machinery history logs. A key part of your responsibilities includes monitoring and controlling equipment operations through the building automation system, responding to alarms, and securing utility services during emergency situations or unscheduled outages.
This position supports 24/7/365 operations, requiring you to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a watch engineer role. You will be expected to work independently during both routine and emergency situations, wear personal protective equipment, and operate vehicles and industrial equipment. The role may also require working outside during inclement weather and walking to complete rounds throughout our campus.
