About the Role
The Operating Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity of our facilities. This position requires a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems. You will demonstrate technical expertise in one specific craft area—such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—while remaining multi-skilled in others to successfully complete daily and weekly work assignments.
Your day-to-day involves performing maintenance, monitoring repairs, and ensuring Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems meet applicable standards. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inventory control, and ensuring HVAC systems and associated equipment operate at optimum performance levels through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and part replacement. Additionally, you will review client service requests to correct recurrent operational problems and evaluate vendors and suppliers for quality and competitive pricing.
