About the Role
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Oncology RN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will deliver specialized oncology care across various U.S. facilities, administering chemotherapy, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. You will educate patients and families, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold the highest clinical standards.
This position is designed for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments. You will adapt quickly to new hospital settings, policies, and workflows at each travel assignment location. By collaborating with Fusion Medical Staffing and facility leadership, you will ensure smooth onboarding and clear communication throughout your assignment, contributing to a positive and supportive unit culture at every facility.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct nursing care to oncology patients including assessments, care planning, and evaluation
- check_circleMonitor patients for treatment response, adverse reactions, and oncologic emergencies
- check_circleManage central venous access devices including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ports and lines
- check_circleCoordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary team members
- check_circleEducate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and symptom management
- check_circleDocument all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR system
- check_circleAdvocate for patient comfort by implementing evidence-based pain and symptom management strategies
- check_circleAdhere to infection control and safety requirements for immunocompromised patients
- check_circleCollaborate with facility leadership to ensure smooth onboarding and schedule adherence
- check_circleSafely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive medications according to established protocols
Requirements
- verifiedActive RN license in state of practice and/or compact state eligibility
- verifiedOncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
- verifiedBasic Life Support (BLS) certification
- verifiedAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- verifiedChemotherapy/Biotherapy administration certification (e.g., ONS) preferred
- verifiedMinimum 1 year of recent inpatient oncology or hematology-oncology experience
Nice to Have
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration certification (e.g., ONS). Travel experience.
