Sanford Health is the largest rural health system in the United States, dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America's heartland. This role is based at the Fargo facility, part of the Good Samaritan Society, where the mission is to deliver compassionate care to individuals across the lifespan.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will assess clients, patients, and residents to design comprehensive treatment plans that help them develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform daily life tasks. You will evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities to establish realistic therapy goals and administer appropriate programs for those with functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments.
Your day will involve conducting evaluations, providing interventions, and documenting progress in accordance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. You will incorporate current research into daily treatments and provide education to enhance patient understanding and functional outcomes. Depending on the specific facility needs, your work may focus on post-acute, long-term care, or home health care environments.
This position offers the opportunity to interact with a wide network of stakeholders, including providers, case managers, family members, and third-party payers. You may also be asked to supervise assistants, aides, and students, as well as provide ongoing education and training to peers in your area of expertise. Flexibility with variable work schedules is essential to meet the dynamic needs of the department.
An accepted offer is contingent upon passing a drug screen and pre-employment background screening. Candidates must obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers, which must be completed within the first 60 days of employment.
Sanford Health is an EEO/AA Employer committed to diversity and inclusion, considering qualified applicants regardless of background.
