At Memorial Hermann, we pursue a common goal of delivering high-quality, efficient care while creating exceptional experiences for every member of our community. When we say every member of our community, that includes our employees. We know that when our employees feel cared for, heard, and valued, they are inspired to create moments that exceed expectations, while prioritizing safety, compassion, personalization, and efficiency.
If you want to advance your career and contribute to our vision of creating healthier communities, now and for generations to come, we want you to be a part of our team. We are committed to promoting individual professional growth and development, supporting department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization, and serving as a resource to less experienced staff.
This position is designed for a professional who assesses patients and develops treatment plans based on the results of comprehensive evaluations. The evaluation may include tests and measurements of physical, cognitive, perceptual, and/or developmental skills as they relate to maximizing the client's level of independence in occupational performance areas along the continuum of life.
In this role, you will provide direct patient care, documenting findings, progress, and instruction to patients and caregivers. You will assume responsibility for the care of the patient, performing complete evaluations, accurately interpreting findings, and developing a written plan of care with specific goals. You will implement occupational therapy treatment programs, monitor progress, and alter plans as indicated. Beyond direct care, you may assist leadership with program development, provide training and guidance to students, interns, and other staff, and serve as a clinical instructor or preceptor for OT or OTA interns.
You will also communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies. Your work will involve presenting relevant special topics in professional literature at clinic meetings, grand rounds, conferences, and university settings as requested. You will ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
This role operates on a Monday through Friday schedule with hours of 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, plus one weekend day per month.
