About the Role

Join an established, busy Obstetrics & Gynecology practice in Mason City, Iowa, where you can practice big-city medicine in a small town. This role offers the unique opportunity to enhance your lifestyle with fresh air, no traffic, and a low cost of living, without sacrificing access to state-of-the-art medicine.

You will join a collaborative team of 1 OBGYN, 4 OB Hospitalists, 2 midwives, and 4 Advanced Practice Providers. The practice boasts 500-600 births per year and features a newly remodeled clinic on the main campus, located in close proximity to Labor & Delivery, the Lab, Pharmacy, and Radiology. The facility is equipped with two Da Vinci XI robots with designated OR block time and an on-site ultrasound. You will have access to a Level II NICU staffed 24 hours by Pediatric Hospitalists and NICU Nurses, an on-site blood bank, and in-house specialists for consultation in Cardiology, Orthopedics, Reconstructive Surgery, and Anesthesiology.

This position includes a teaching opportunity with Family Medicine Residents (present in Labor & Delivery 24/7) and Medical Students. You will also benefit from a collaborative relationship with MercyOne Des Moines Perinatology to support high-risk obstetric management and seamless specialty consultation.

Mason City is the largest urban center in north Iowa with a population of approximately 30,000. Located just two hours from Minneapolis and Des Moines, the city offers excellent public and parochial schools, ranking in the top 15% in the US for academic student achievement. The community is rich in history, music, and architecture, known as the home of "The Music Man" and the last remaining Frank Lloyd Wright hotel in the world.

Residents enjoy a cost of living 24% lower than the national average and access to amenities such as the Lime Creek Nature Center, an indoor ice arena, fine arts museum, performing arts theater, regional orchestra, aquatic center, YMCA fitness center, library, an 18-hole golf course, bike trails, and an abundance of outdoor recreation.
