About the Role
Obstetrix of California at San Jose is seeking an experienced Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) OB Hospitalist to join a Maternal-F Medicine (MFM) led practice at Good Samaritan Hospital. This role offers the unique opportunity to practice in a setting that combines the amenities of a large city with the charm of a small town. San Jose, located at the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay, is the heart of Silicon Valley and offers an average temperature of 70 degrees, world-class cultural arts, professional sports, and access to Northern California's best wineries.
In this position, you will serve as a vital part of a comprehensive care team supported by a Level III NICU, a 24-hour dedicated Anesthesiologist to Labor & Delivery, a 24-hour Neonatologist, and a 24-hour Pediatric Hospitalist. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing a cycle of five to six 24-hour shifts, performing 0-3 deliveries and assisting on 1-2 C-sections on average, and handling OB triage for unassigned and private patients. You will also receive MFM transports, round on postpartum inpatients, and share rounding on antepartum patients with MFM colleagues. While GYN surgery is managed by a separate on-call physician, you will evaluate GYN ER cases for unassigned patients.
