Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) began in 2006 and leads the industry in developing and managing in-house OB/GYN hospitalist programs. Founded to make care safer for moms and babies and to help OB/GYNs achieve balance in their own lives, the organization provides unparalleled clinician support and resources within a collegial, team-based work environment.

About the Role

This full-time Ob/Gyn Hospitalist position is based at McLeod Regional Medical Center, a 461-bed hospital serving the Florence community since 1906. As part of a century-old, locally owned, non-profit system that serves over one million patients, McLeod is a nationally recognized leader in patient safety and quality improvement.

The role focuses on in-house care within a Level III NICU, supported by in-house anesthesia and the EPIC EMR. The position is designed to eliminate on-call responsibilities and office management duties, allowing physicians to focus entirely on clinical care. Full-time status is achieved by working a minimum of five 24-hour shifts per month, offering a structure that prioritizes a healthy work-life balance.

McLeod's maternity center houses the area's only NICU and offers Doula services, high-risk care, large delivery suites, and family-centered classes for new parents. The hospital has developed numerous physician-led, evidence-based initiatives that have given rise to new best practices and improved patient outcomes.

Florence, South Carolina, nicknamed "Flo Town" and "The Magic City," is a major city with a population of over 38,000. Founded as a railroad hub and the junction of three major railroad systems, the city retains its status as a major hub in the coastal plain region for industry and infrastructure. Today, it serves as a regional center for business, medicine, culture, and finance.
