Riverside Health is one of America's strongest healthcare delivery organizations, with over 100 years of history and a reputation for innovation. At the heart of the system is the Riverside Medical Group (RMG), a multi-specialty collaborative clinical team comprising 750+ providers. Our governance is provided directly by providers, ensuring that physicians take on leadership roles and maintain an active voice in decisions impacting patient care and resource allocation.
Our culture is guided by the mission to "care for others as we would care for those we love," fostering mutual respect and collaboration across our large, integrated health system. We are supported by physician leadership and offer extensive subspecialty support, including neurosurgery, nephrology, cardiology, neurology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and pulmonology. Our facilities are linked by Epic, ensuring seamless coordination between outpatient and inpatient care.
We are seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) Family Medicine Physicians to join our established and well-respected team in southeastern Virginia. This role offers a variety of clinical opportunities in both suburban and rural locations, including 100% outpatient primary care (part-time and full-time) and urgent care positions (part-time, PRN, and full-time).
You will experience the lifestyle of living and working in a region surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic Ocean, York & James Rivers. The Virginia Peninsula, including Williamsburg, Newport News, York County, Poquoson, and Hampton, offers a temperate climate with four distinct seasons and mild winters. Rated as the #2 place in the United States to raise a family by Parenthood Magazine, the area features low crime rates, top public-private schools, and a reasonable cost of living. Residents enjoy easy access to major cultural events, year-round outdoor recreational activities, and diverse dining options, all while maintaining a short commute to work.
Beyond clinical excellence, Riverside offers a unique work-life balance. The coastal region provides opportunities to fish, sail, kayak, and paddleboard on the James River, Chesapeake Bay, or 200 miles of coastline. The area is also a hub for history and culture, featuring attractions like Busch Gardens, outlet malls, and wineries, with easy travel access via three airports or drives to hiking destinations like the Appalachian Trail.
To support your transition and career, Riverside offers the Vital Worklife APP, a concierge employee assistance program to help you navigate this new chapter. Additionally, as a non-profit organization, our positions qualify for the Federal Loan Forgiveness Program, and we provide a training stipend.
