Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center (SRMC) has been providing care to west central Ohio since 1918. The OB/GYN team at SRMC prides itself on offering preconception care, prenatal care, birthing classes, and postpartum support. The facility maintains OB/GYN coverage 24 hours a day and offers high-tech fetal monitoring, pain management services, maternal-fetal medicine, and lactation services. SRMC currently handles approximately 1,500 annual deliveries.
About the Role
This OB Hospitalist position is available as Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN at locations in Marietta, Canton, and Lima, Ohio. The role is designed to provide comprehensive care for all pregnant women presenting emergently, regardless of circumstance, while supporting private practice physicians through coverage and assistance.
In this position, you will cultivate strong relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel, evaluate and treat triage and unassigned patients, and provide consultation to the Emergency Department. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include monitoring labor, delivering babies, performing surgeries and surgical assists, and evaluating postpartum patients. Additionally, you will assist with the education of OB residents and medical students, provide nurse support and education, participate in emergency drills and simulations, and facilitate daily interdisciplinary board rounds to improve patient safety.
