About the Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

Our Philadelphia Region is expanding into an ML Cluster, and we are excited to expand our team with dedicated Infrastructure Deployment Technicians to help scale our network and server capacity. This team covers the whole Pennsylvania region with all the sites inside and outside the perimeter. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

About the Role

As a Network Technician, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks. You will assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network while providing management and support of AWS's vast network infrastructure. Your day-to-day work involves establishing and following best practices and refining operational procedures.

A day in the life on our team involves three primary tasks focused on efficiency and capacity:

  1. Network Device Provisioning: You will provide first-level networking devices to serve customer racks. This entails tracking network rack intake and delivery, working with onsite teams to request rack space, power, and cooling, and partnering with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready. You will also handle link and device troubleshooting within specific Service-Level Agreements.
  2. Console and Room Builds: You will participate in exciting console builds and room builds, collaborating with teams dedicated to providing more space and capacity for customer racks.
  3. Scaling and Migration: You will work with ID-Scaling peers to build higher-level networking devices, participate in the migration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware, and manage work priorities through ticketing systems to complete customer requests.

You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution. This role requires regular peer and customer interaction, as well as up to 60% travel within your geographical work area, with potential requests for international travel.
