The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General (a 102-bed campus of Manchester Memorial), a large multispecialty provider group, and visiting nurse services. The region serves a population of 300,000 people across 19 towns.
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioner is a Registered Nurse with specialized practice judgment and expertise who influences the professional role competence and growth of learners. This position works in collaboration with nursing leadership to foster competency management, clinical nursing education, professional role development, policy standardization, collaborative partnerships, scientific inquiry, transition to practice, and the onboarding of new colleagues.
As an essential member of the nursing leadership team, you will promote the alignment of regional NPD and practice excellence with the Hartford HealthCare system as a whole. You will serve as a Learning Facilitator, Collaborative Partner, Role Developer, Mentor, and Change Agent, utilizing educational design processes and adult learning principles to bridge knowledge gaps and drive desired outcomes across micro, meso, and macro system levels.
