The Nursing Assistant/Ward Clerk/EKG is a vital member of the care team, performing a hybrid of clerical, receptionist, and bedside care duties under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. This role exists to ensure the smooth operation of the assigned unit while providing essential support to Registered Nurses and direct care to patients.
In this position, you will be the face of the unit, managing the front desk and ensuring patient areas remain neat, clean, and stocked. Your day will involve taking and recording vital signs, documenting patient care in the Hospital Information System, and performing EKGs. You will assist with patient comfort, safety, and welfare, responding promptly to call lights and observing patients for any changes in condition. The role requires a positive attitude and a commitment to creating a safe environment for both patients and staff, adhering strictly to hospital policies and safety procedures.
