About the Role
This position serves as the designated on-site hospital administrator during non-business hours, acting as the primary leader for all hospital activities in the absence of Administration and department directors. The role is critical in promoting and maintaining quality patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization on the assigned shift.
As a key liaison, you will plan, direct, and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate patient flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. This involves actively monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed to manage hospital operations effectively. The role requires sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities to supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
In the event of an emergency, you will work under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinate related activities. Maintaining open communication with all staff through regular rounds is essential to fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring operational continuity.
