About the Role
The Nurse Technician position in the Adult & Pediatric Float Pool offers a unique opportunity for nursing students to practice in multiple skill sets across OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center, Oklahoma Children's Hospital, and OU Health - Edmond Medical Center. This role is specifically designed for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program or recent graduates awaiting licensure to learn healthcare support skills and gain valuable experience in a hospital setting.
As a Nurse Technician, you will work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to perform routine patient care tasks. Each shift can look different as you will serve units in need, adapting to the dynamic environment of a float pool. You will collaborate with the patient and family to monitor health status, implement care plans, and carry out physician and nursing orders. Your day-to-day responsibilities include vital sign monitoring, blood glucose checks, IV and telemetry support, sterile procedures, specimen collection, and patient transport.
Shift & Location Details
This is a PRN (as needed) position with Day (7A-7P) and Night (7P-7A) shifts available. The role requires flexibility to support various units based on immediate patient needs.
