This position serves as a vital support to the nursing staff and physicians, maintaining an efficient operation dedicated to delivering optimal, technical patient care. You will act as a key member of the healthcare team, coordinating patient flow, managing clinical data, and assisting with a wide range of medical procedures. From collecting patient vitals and performing phlebotomy to assisting with wound care and preparing equipment for procedures, your role ensures the seamless delivery of services within the Cancer and Infusion Center.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of clinical and administrative tasks. You will coordinate patient assignments, obtain and document clinical data, and communicate critical findings to the medical team. The role requires you to be adaptable, assisting with everything from scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries to managing specimen transport and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You will also play a crucial part in emergency situations, intervening to ensure patient safety and assisting with the training of staff on equipment maintenance.

This role is based at the WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, West Virginia. The position is non-exempt and offers a 40-hour work week. Various shift options are available to accommodate different schedules, including:

Registration or Certification. One-year experience as a Medical Assistant or patient care.
Skills: Basic Life Support, Heart Saver First Aid, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, Capillary Puncture, Point Of Care, Clinical Lab, Oxygen Administration, Intradermal, Subcutaneous.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program (preferred for post-1997 hires).
