We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform medical assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. In this role, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and conduct focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran. You will then electronically document the exam findings required by the VA.
It is important to note that this position is strictly for Disability Assessments. You will not treat patients, prescribe medication, or make disability determinations; those decisions are made solely by the United States Veterans Administration. On average, you will conduct assessments for 3 to 5 Veterans per day.
This is an in-person position primarily focused on performing incarcerated exams throughout Virginia, with secondary opportunities for nationwide travel when schedule openings arise.
Travel is a core component of the role. You will commit to at least two weeks of travel each month, traveling to your assigned location on Sunday evening and returning to your home city on Friday evening or Saturday morning. All travel logistics, including flights, hotels, and rental cars, are arranged and paid for by the company, ensuring no out-of-pocket expenses for the provider. Work is performed in clinical settings, such as purpose-built mobile clinics or medical offices.
Interested candidates should hold a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license. While providers with multiple state licenses are preferred, there is no requirement to apply for multi-state licenses to begin. The company provides training and continued support to ensure success in the role.
We are an equal opportunity employer. Any USA state provider license for this position is subject to license portability rules. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds to join our team in supporting Veterans.
