About the Role
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be a vital part of our integrated health system in Georgia, providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients. This role exists to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies are obtained safely and efficiently, utilizing independent judgment and initiative to operate complex imaging equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
In this position, you will perform a wide variety of technical procedures, from setting up equipment and positioning patients to administering radiopharmaceuticals with precision. Your day involves verifying clinical orders, gathering patient history, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control policies. You will be responsible for producing clinically acceptable images, managing emergency situations, and maintaining the operational readiness of the department.
Beyond technical execution, this role is deeply rooted in patient advocacy and communication. You will explain procedures clearly to minimize patient anxiety, maintain patient dignity and privacy, and collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and families. You will also contribute to the team by assisting colleagues, participating in the training of new employees, and upholding Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
