About the Team

Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland is renowned for its specialty programs and clinical excellence. The facility features nationally recognized doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantation, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, and rehabilitation. It also houses Oregon's only 24-hour urgent care located alongside an emergency room, ensuring immediate access to critical care when needed.

The imaging services department strives to make life better for others by providing high-quality diagnostic support. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work alongside the entire department to deliver exceptional patient care, utilizing your expert knowledge in radionuclide administration, imaging techniques, and patient treatment.

About the Role

Your work will be pivotal in helping medical staff determine patient situations and provide appropriate care. You will be responsible for providing quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment. This role involves administering radionuclides according to department policies, positioning patients for diagnostic imaging, and operating imaging equipment to ensure accurate results with minimal repeat rates.

Beyond technical imaging, you will play a key role in patient safety and care. You will protect patients and others by adhering to radiation safety standards and practicing universal precautions. This includes communicating effectively with neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, starting IVs under the direction of a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), and maintaining professional judgment in all interactions.

The role also requires meticulous documentation, including identifying patients, reviewing charts, labeling images, and performing quality control. You will be expected to maintain current education and certifications, presenting professional information to colleagues and handling stressful situations with a focus on positive outcomes.

Location and Community

Located in a desirable commercial Portland neighborhood on NW 23rd Ave, the medical center is moments from downtown and surrounded by restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, and parks. The area is easily accessible via multiple bus routes, the streetcar, and freeway access, making it friendly for active commuters, drivers, and those utilizing Tri-Met discounts. On-site facilities include a community garden, pharmacy, chapel, and cafes with baristas.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Legacy Health is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can grow and succeed. We believe our mission is good for our people, our patients, our communities, and our world. Above all, we will do the right thing.

We afford equal employment opportunities to employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, creed, citizenship status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Application Instructions

If you are passionate about our mission and believe you can contribute to our team, we encourage you to apply—even if you don't meet every qualification listed. We value diverse perspectives and welcome candidates who are eager to contribute to our culture of care.
