The imaging services department strives to make life better for others by providing high-quality diagnostic support. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work alongside the entire department to deliver exceptional patient care, utilizing your expert knowledge in radionuclide administration, imaging techniques, and patient treatment.
Your work will be pivotal in helping medical staff determine patient situations and provide appropriate care. You will be responsible for providing quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment. This role involves administering radionuclides according to department policies, positioning patients for diagnostic imaging, and operating imaging equipment to ensure accurate results with minimal repeat rates.
Beyond technical imaging, you will play a key role in patient safety and care. You will protect patients and others by adhering to radiation safety standards and practicing universal precautions. This includes communicating effectively with neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, starting IVs under the direction of a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), and maintaining professional judgment in all interactions.
The role also requires meticulous documentation, including identifying patients, reviewing charts, labeling images, and performing quality control. You will be expected to maintain current education and certifications, presenting professional information to colleagues and handling stressful situations with a focus on positive outcomes.
