The Nuclear Medicine Division at UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for an academic nuclear medicine physician faculty position. Encompassing a broad and comprehensive program of clinical and research activities, the Division leverages state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional faculty expertise to provide outstanding patient care, teaching, and research opportunities.
The Division provides comprehensive diagnostics and radiopharmaceutical therapy services to the center's five main core hospitals in Pittsburgh, including the Hillman Cancer Center, with additional imaging services extending across the UPMC network. As a world leader in the research and development of both instrumentation and radiotracers, the Division was the site of the first PET/CT scanner invention and maintains over 100 radiolabeled compounds for human and animal use. Facilities include state-of-the-art whole-body scanners, multiple PET/CT scanners, and SPECT/CT units throughout the network.
The Division conducts large volumes of general nuclear medicine, oncologic and non-oncologic imaging, neuroimaging, and PET/CT imaging. It also provides substantial volumes of radionuclide therapies, including Pluvicto and Lutathera, as well as non-FDA approved therapies via clinical trials. Dedicated didactic and clinical teaching is provided to ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency trainees and a dedicated PET/CT fellowship.
This full-time academic position offers a dynamic mix of clinical, teaching, and academic responsibilities. The role is designed for candidates with a strong interest in academic and clinical nuclear medicine, particularly those with expertise in PET/CT and theranostics. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the position serves as a cornerstone for the Division's mission to advance patient care and medical education within one of the largest academic radiology programs in the country.
