About the Role
This is an independent 1099 position designed for Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeons to perform independent medical evaluations. The primary focus is determining the level of patient disability for insurance companies, with a majority of cases involving worker's compensation.
The role offers significant flexibility, allowing you to design your own schedule. While the minimum commitment is 8 hours per month, the position supports working up to 3 full days per week with an earning potential of up to $1 million annually. Outside work is permitted, and no malpractice insurance is required for this engagement.
Areas of Coverage
Evaluations will be conducted in person across the following regions:
- New York State boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island, and Queens
- Long Island (Suffolk County)
- Rockland County
- Orange County
- Westchester County
Please note that there is no remote option for this position.
Qualifications
Candidates must be Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. Applicants must have no history of direct malpractice settlements or individual licensure issues. Previous Independent Medical Examination (IME) experience is not required. A minimum commitment term of 3 months is required.
