Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is an award-winning, medium-hub commercial service airport that served more than a record-breaking 11.1 million passengers in 2025. As one of the top 50 airports in the United States for passenger traffic, RSW is served by fifteen airlines offering nonstop service to more than 70 markets, including Canada and Germany. The airport generates an economic impact of $8.3 billion annually to the Southwest Florida region and supports more than 60,000 jobs.
Page Field (FMY), an FAA-designated reliever airport, provides services to general and business aviation and accommodated more than 160,000 aircraft operations in 2025. Base Operations at Page Field is an award-winning, fixed-based operator recognized for its customer service and facilities.
Terminal expansion projects are currently underway at RSW to improve the travel experience by consolidating security checkpoints, adding concession space, and providing passengers with more amenities. Additionally, a new Concourse E is being constructed with 14 gates, alongside other terminal, landside, and airside improvements.
The Lee County Port Authority is seeking a Noise & Airspace Project Coordinator to serve as a vital link between our airports and the Southwest Florida community. In this role, you will ensure the safety of tall structure permitting and lead FAA noise studies, ensuring that RSW and Page Field continue to soar while remaining good neighbors to the communities we serve.
You will act as the primary point of contact for aircraft overflight inquiries, managing the PlaneNoise system and responding to the public with clarity and empathy. Your work will involve collaborating with developers, the FAA, and FDOT to administer the Tall Structure Permitting Program, ensuring new construction never compromises airspace safety. You will also meet with Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control Tower personnel, pilots, community residents, and adjacent municipalities to address noise-related issues.
Beyond daily operations, you will track relevant noise and airspace legislation, policies, and guidelines to assist with compliance initiatives for the airports and tenants. The role requires preparing and delivering professional presentations and written reports for both internal and external audiences.
Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be asked to fulfill duties outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities.
