We take pride in our role within the communities we serve, contributing positively to a cleaner, healthier, and sustainable environment. Driven by our core values of Excellence, Integrity, Accountability, and Collaboration, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strive to create a rewarding, safe, and empowering workplace for all. We are seeking a reliable and attentive individual to serve as a Night-Shift Security and Fire Prevention Specialist at our facility. This part-time role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the premises during non-operational hours. The specialist will maintain a physical presence on site, monitor for safety hazards, and conduct hourly facility walkthroughs to identify and mitigate fire risks—particularly those associated with compost pit activity.
You will work independently overnight, navigating both indoor and outdoor areas that may present unique challenges such as uneven terrain, dust, strong odors, and variable lighting. Your physical presence and vigilance are the primary defenses against fire hazards and security breaches when the facility is quiet. By maintaining a constant on-site presence and conducting thorough patrols, you directly support our mission of operating safely and responsibly.
This role requires working in a dynamic environment where employees are exposed to dust, dirt, mud, loud noise, strong odors, heavy machinery, and potentially extreme weather conditions. Terrain may be uneven, soft, or shifting. Low or variable lighting and slip, trip, or fall hazards should be expected. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety harnesses, hard hats, high-visibility apparel, safety footwear, gloves, safety glasses, and issued lighting devices, will be provided and must be worn as required when on site.
