The Night Auditor serves as the backbone of the hotel's overnight operations, bridging the gap between guest service and financial accuracy. This role is essential for ensuring a seamless transition from one business day to the next, handling end-of-day accounting tasks while simultaneously providing dedicated support to late-night guests.
In this position, you will work closely with the hotel's bookkeepers and front desk agents to maintain up-to-date records and ensure every guest is checked in and their accounts are balanced. Your day-to-day involves answering guest inquiries, managing reservations, and processing check-ins and check-outs with a professional and friendly demeanor. You will be the first point of contact for overnight needs, from resolving guest issues to preparing the property for the morning rush.
Beyond guest interactions, the Night Auditor is responsible for the critical financial reconciliation of the property. You will audit, reconcile, and balance daily financial activities, ensuring that room rates, taxes, and credit card charges are accurate. This includes managing the property management system, closing out shifts, and preparing detailed reports for the accounting department. The role requires a high level of detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all systems are shut down and restarted correctly for the next day.
Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated on their communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. We look for individuals who can adapt to varying situations and lead the team when under pressure.
