About the Nurse Residency Program
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Mission Hospital is a year-long initiative designed to shepherd new graduates through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. This paid program provides a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents to foster learning, clinical application, and socialization.
The program equips residents with the tools necessary to succeed in a high-acuity hospital environment. Through advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, and hands-on simulations, residents develop critical thinking skills and the ability to deliver patient-centered care. The role emphasizes collaboration with medical providers and the use of established nursing models to advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements
- verifiedAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- verifiedRegistered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- verifiedBasic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- verifiedAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
