Renowned for our specialty services and innovative clinical advances, we strive to make The Johns Hopkins Hospital an exceptional place to work, learn, and advance your career.
The Surgical Oncology Unit (Weinberg 4C/D) is a 27-bed acute care floor with a specialized focus on surgical oncology patients, including those who have undergone GI, Head and Neck, and General surgery. While this is an acute care environment, the patients require specialized nursing care, assessments, and education.
Working on Weinberg 4CD provides Registered Nurses with a unique opportunity to learn new skills such as tracheostomy management and develop strong time-management abilities. You will be part of a family-oriented, multidisciplinary team. To support your growth, each shift includes a charge nurse without a direct care assignment, and many shifts feature a clinical mentor nurse from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm. Additionally, a virtual nurse role supports the unit by assisting with admissions, discharges, and patient education from a hybrid location within the hospital.
This position is ideal for new graduates, as no prior RN work experience is required. All new graduates are automatically enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program, which is ranked #3 in the nation, ensuring you receive comprehensive training and development.
This role operates on a rotating shift schedule that includes a weekend rotation, with a weekly commitment of 36 hours. The Hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed to meet operational requirements.
We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where we embrace and celebrate our differences. All employees are valued and contribute to our mission of serving the community, engaging in equitable healthcare delivery and workforce practices. Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are drug-free workplace employers.
